Ontwsep™ QuEChERS
Ontwsep™ QuEChERS is a widely used sample preparation method, extensively applied in the detection of contaminants in food, environmental water, and soil samples.
Utilizing high-efficiency extraction salt packets and purification tubes, Ontwsep™ QuEChERS separates target components from interfering substances (such as fatty acids, pigments, lipids, etc.) through a simple centrifugation process
This method is characterized by its simplicity, rapid processing, low solvent consumption, and cost-effectiveness compared to traditional solid-phase extraction (SPE) columns.
Method Workflow
1. Sample Preparation: Weigh the sample and place it into a centrifuge tube.
2. Extraction: Add extraction salts and solvents, then shake vigorously.
3. Centrifugation: Centrifuge to separate the target analytes from the matrix.
4. Purification: Transfer the supernatant to a purification tube for further cleanup.
5. Analysis: Analyze the purified extract using appropriate detection methods (e.g., GC-MS, LC-MS).

The Ontwsep QuEChERS Extraction Salt Packets contain MgSO₄ to remove moisture from samples. The Ontwsep QuEChERS Purification Tubes consist of adsorbents and anhydrous MgSO₄. Common adsorbents include PSA, C18, and Garb:
Garb: Strong adsorption capacity for pigments, suitable for heavily pigmented fruits, vegetables, and complex matrices like herbs and tea.
C18: Reversed-phase C18 adsorbent for retaining non-polar compounds such as lipids.
PSA: Adsorbs carbohydrates, organic acids, fatty acids, phenols, and minor pigments in pesticide residue analysis.
